Cozied up against the eastern edge of the Middlesex Fells Reservation, this Stoneham residence takes full advantage of the peaceful setting and plentiful forest views. The original house was designed and built in the Mid-Century Modern style by its occupant, a prominent local architect. The renovation largely preserves the character of the house as seen from the street, with its horizontal massing and low, deep eaves. To the rear, two additions create a new guest suite as well as an enlarged living room and a modern master bedroom suite. These additions include large windows to take full advantage of the forest setting, while leaving room for an outdoor patio. The project is under construction as of 2023.
